Crust Almighty record label interview

https://www.facebook.com/crustalmighty/

1. Could you tell a bit more about crust almighty record label?

Crust Almighty is a very small label/distro in Sydney, Australia, specialising in crust punk and grindcore. It's nothing grand but we love doing it, it helps get some noise out there and some hard to find in Australia records into the country via trades (which we are always up for).

2. When did you start with the crust almighty record label and are the bands satisfied with your services?

Oooh, we probably started about 5 years a go as a way of putting out a 7" by our own band Inebrious Bastard (you may notice that most of the releases feature Inebrious Bastard on them). We have really only worked with friends so I'd like to think they were happy with what we did (sometimes things don't quite move as fast as we'd like due to cash flow but I think we are forgiven for that.) The only thing we try to do as a label is be honest with ourselves and others. We have been approached by many great bands to help with releases, which we would have loved to do, but it always depends on money so if it isn't there then we just can't help out.

3. What bands can expect from you?

More than likely an Inebrious Bastard album, more split 7"s (have no idea who yet) and hopefully a collaboration or 2 with other labels to release bands that aren't our own.

4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

Never take it for granted, ignore the hollier-than-thou types, enjoy it, be part of it in anyway that makes you happy (be that going to shows, supporting releases, being in bands, making fan/webzines, running social media groups, etc. Bands in general - support each other, share gear, don't be a dick.

Being part of the underground (whatever scene that is in be it metal/punk/noise/electronic/art/performance/whatever) means you will be in contact with some very passionate people who are doing what they do for the love of it. Sometimes that person needs to be you if no-one else is wiling to put gigs on, start a band, run a space etc. Never be afraid of failing. No ever did anything without a few stumbles along the way. It can be hard work sometimes but it's always worth it.

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

As I've said already, the scene doesn't survive without support, and that comes in many different ways. From your local shows to worldwide distribution, the only people that make it work are us, we are what keeps this thing going, stay angry at the politicians and people in positions of power but stay positive about how to improve your own existence.
