Opran Možgan band

They are Opran možgan (brainwashed). They flew out of a concrete garage in 2019.The line-up kept changing, and so did the sound. In principle, they have been using crust/hardcore punk with occasional grind elements since the beginning. The current members are Klemen Škrjanec - guitar + back vocals, Nik Jeđud - guitar + back vocals, Matic Gorjan - bass guitar, Žiga Križnar - vocals and Grega Križnar - drums. The modern capitalist apocalypse unfolding around us and within us has a special sound of pain, suffering, frustration and chaos. They try to capture these feelings and transform them into something beautiful and tangible but at the same time sincere. Confession of the real situation, not flight into a dream. They don't want to be just a band, but they are friends who together create something bigger than each individual. Some more drug addicted than others, some less present than others. Full of difference, they  strive for unity and seek beauty in chaos and destruction. The world is washed, and so is the brain in it.They are Opran Možgan (brainwashed).

Distrüst band

Distrüst are a d-beat, crust and punk band that is formed in 2015 with the intention of being a different project to those existing in their lives and when they are also the first band in the country (El Salvador) touch crust and d-beat. The idea was to have fast and raw music, with some libertarian and anarchist tendencies; they met in a night to play something and then the first song with Luis “Bash” Mendez, Jorge “Gino” Ayala and Leonardo Alas.

For a couple of months they have been rehearsing original songs like “Cambia Primero” and “Anarchistas” (to mention a few). They had a lot of problems in those months because “Gino”, who would be part of the beginning of the band and who was playing the bass; They were not present at the rehearsals, delaying the process, they decided to give it a hand in order to incorporate a person who in the rock / metal scene in general is very familiar; Vitelio Melara, someone who comes to give you the power and fun of the band.In March 2016 they finally debuted in a concert by friends, “Electoral Destruction”, a show very under. After this concerto the things if it would be because they decided to grab their first EP, “Don't Believe The Progess”, loaded with 10 original themes and 2 covers; fully engulfed in a self-management manner with John de Guaro Barto Producciones.
Being a d-beat / crust band in the region will open opportunities for Split with the band Mother Earth from Guatemala, to participate in the compilation “You Bleed the Oidos 2” (D-beat V.A). In 2016 we played with the Hardcore Punk band from Texas, GLUE, a show that also helped us show their noise. Throughout this time, they traveled to Guatemala to present the inauguration of the “Corazones Incendiados” producer, they traveled to Nicaragua to share with many friends from this region.
In August 2016, for the first time, they traveled to Costa Rica for an anarchist activity, an Encuentro International Punk Encuentro, which gives us a very good sympathy with all the people from different parts of the Latin American region.
In 2017 they hacked the first tour of Mexico called "FUCK WORLD'S BORDERS", with 9 performances in the State of Mexico, Puebla and Oaxaca.
In 2018 they launched a second EP entitled "Destructive Asocial Noise" with 10 themes, and in July-August this year we hacked the second tour called "Sin Return" which comprises Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.

For now they keep on creating a new theme for the first long-lasting record, so the 2018 finale integrates Noe Velasquez with the second guitar.

In 2018 Steffi, the singer and bass player found new band members in the common former band Angry Brigade from Prague, which influenced the sound significantly and brings crust and hardcore elements into the band. The lyrics criticise power relations, social problems, capitalism and war.

Short interview with Denis Boardman from Doom band on frost punx picnic 2019

1. How and when did you join Doom and what was your first roll in the band ?

Denis Boardman- I joined Doom in the end of 1995 . At the time there was a planned tour for Scandinavia and Scoot who is now playing bass in the band , had been playing bass in the band for maybe a year or so, he had some personal problems with his then girlfriend and basically he couldn't do the tour so they asked him if he wants to leave and he said yeah. Anyways, I have been like a friend of the band and meeting up with them on gigs and you know Doom were my fucking idols since I first saw them in 1987 because in England nobody was really doing the Discharge thing. So Doom was influenced more by Swedish hardcore. Of course there was influence by Discharge but there was kinda more influence by the Swedish bands like Discard. When Doom went in the studio for the first time they actually took the Discard demo and said to the producer “We wanna sound like this.“

 2. Of all the songs from Doom, which one you enjoy playing the most ?

Denis Boardman – That's a fuckin' tricky one.

All for one and one for all - It's surely Police Bastard haha.

Denis Boardman- Nope, everybody in the band actually hates „Police Bastard“ because it's so „famous“.

All for one and one for all - I think that doesn't matter, I think it's „famous“ because it's a good song.

Denis Boardman- Yeah, it is a good song but I think the record cover and name of the song are better than the actual fuckin' song. Anyways it's kinda like with the „Ace of spades“ with Motörhead for instance,  they have to play the „Ace of spades“ and it's like “Oh fuckin' no, we have to do that!“ and that's how we feel about „Police bastard“. Yeah, it's a good song, but we don't feel like it's our best song. You know we are kind of known for that song but we don't really want to be known just because of a fuckin' „Police bastard“ song.

3.Could you give some advice to the underground scene ?

Denis Boardman – Well...Where do you start? I mean I have been in the underground scene since I was a fucking litle kid and now i'm 48. The thing is, either you are there or not, you like the music or you fuckin' don't. I know some people join for a while and they give up because of family life or they just don't like the music anymore, however the most dangerous people are the fuckin' fanatics who join and become prominent in the scene and they have influence over the people because they are smart talkers, its kind of if you have watched "the lord's of chaos" film you know the fuckin' "Varg Vikernes" Christian Vikernes, he was a fanatic. Put it this way, how old are you ?

All for one and one for all - Im 22.

Denis Boardman – Im 48 and I've been in punk all my life, so I have seen people come and I have seen people go, its like a movement, but there are "clever" people that can influence the movement and they can be fuckin' dangerous because it's almost like a fucking religion or a cult. That's very dangerous cause people don't use their own minds, it is ok to be influenced by people or ideas but when it's not your own ideas you think "fuck this shit up, this is who i am? No!" listen to yourself's. The answer to your question is "Use your own fucking head, Dont be a dickhead, treat women with respect, ignore idiots, respect each other and learn to love each other."

4.Could you say something at the end for the blog „All for one and one for all“?

Denis Boardman – Like  I said previously be a good person, we are not fucking robots, we are not all made the same. So if you listen something on a record like a political idea and you think „ugh that's fuckin awesome“, you still have to think about how things work for you because punks are not your gods and the records are not your fuckin bible. Just be a good person and remember that we are all diferent and we all react diferently to things. Treat everyone with respect and be respected, don't fuck people over.

Thanks to: Denis Janković

Ephemeral Embrace band

EPHEMERAL EMBRACE is the band that want to go outside the box, they didn't give a fuck about to be tagged into the umpteenth under-kind of metal, they never wanted to be a copy of the umpteenth "famous X band". The result? A punk/metal that put together everything has influenced us in these years.

Born in 2003, grown with Venom and Misfits, they never wanted to make usual metal. Despite all the line-up changes, their goal always has been to create something original, their first video-clip "Empty", a song about eating disorder like anorexia and bulimia, it's an example that help to understand how they face our life with the music. Theyborn and grown under the star of '70 '80 '90 hardcore/punk and metal music. Under these influences, Ephemeral Embrace comes alive and gives life to its songs. Their second demo, in the february of 2013, is another clear example of this: 4 songs that are more near to what they were searching respect to the older demo, came out in 2008.
In fact some reviews gave them the confirmation of that:

-Metallized- "Going into the essence of the work, the orobic band propose a pleasant "come back at the origin", the way of write and conceive the music it's what will be rebaptized "first black metal wave", a sound still tied, from a side, to thrash and heavy metal staves and on the other side, to the attitude, aggression and chaos of the 80 hardcore/punk made in U.S."
-Italia di Metallo- "This guys gain with full hands from the origin of the thrash / black metal scene, through guitar heavy lines sometimes near at the crust punk"

Crust Almighty record label interview

https://www.facebook.com/crustalmighty/

1. Could you tell a bit more about crust almighty record label?

Crust Almighty is a very small label/distro in Sydney, Australia, specialising in crust punk and grindcore. It's nothing grand but we love doing it, it helps get some noise out there and some hard to find in Australia records into the country via trades (which we are always up for).

2. When did you start with the crust almighty record label and are the bands satisfied with your services?

Oooh, we probably started about 5 years a go as a way of putting out a 7" by our own band Inebrious Bastard (you may notice that most of the releases feature Inebrious Bastard on them). We have really only worked with friends so I'd like to think they were happy with what we did (sometimes things don't quite move as fast as we'd like due to cash flow but I think we are forgiven for that.) The only thing we try to do as a label is be honest with ourselves and others. We have been approached by many great bands to help with releases, which we would have loved to do, but it always depends on money so if it isn't there then we just can't help out.

3. What bands can expect from you?

More than likely an Inebrious Bastard album, more split 7"s (have no idea who yet) and hopefully a collaboration or 2 with other labels to release bands that aren't our own.

4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

Never take it for granted, ignore the hollier-than-thou types, enjoy it, be part of it in anyway that makes you happy (be that going to shows, supporting releases, being in bands, making fan/webzines, running social media groups, etc. Bands in general - support each other, share gear, don't be a dick.

Being part of the underground (whatever scene that is in be it metal/punk/noise/electronic/art/performance/whatever) means you will be in contact with some very passionate people who are doing what they do for the love of it. Sometimes that person needs to be you if no-one else is wiling to put gigs on, start a band, run a space etc. Never be afraid of failing. No ever did anything without a few stumbles along the way. It can be hard work sometimes but it's always worth it.

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

As I've said already, the scene doesn't survive without support, and that comes in many different ways. From your local shows to worldwide distribution, the only people that make it work are us, we are what keeps this thing going, stay angry at the politicians and people in positions of power but stay positive about how to improve your own existence.
