BESTHÖVEN band

BESTHÖVEN are from Brazil and have been around since the end of 1990 playing total Discimex raw fucking D-beat punk. BESTHÖVEN is a one man drunken army with Fofäo Discrust behind the Dis-beat horrorcore.BESTHÖVEN started to play in the end of 1990 between October to December… Formed by four friends that time was looking to do a new band and play some noise!!! Some changes in the line up in the start… but established til 94 with Fofäo – Vox, Robson – Guitars, Repolho – Drums and Adriana – Bass… In this era they played many gigs and etc… Then in 1994 band got one man …  Sometimes he  invited some friends like support member… Including Robson (who played drums in “Depois De Um Ataque Aereo” EP in 1999) and Adriana (who played bass in 15 years of birthday gigs…) Besta” that in Portuguese means “evil or beast” and the musician “Beethoven” it means something like “noise not music” or just “anti-music” or then another version of “classic music”…

Rats Nest band

Rats Nest are a Punk band consisting of aggressive vocals complaining about the corruption of society and other social affairs, as well as fast drums and mad guitar solo's.
March 10th 2017, 3 of them (Sam Skunk, Connor Kaos and Kieran Twitch) got together for a jam in the studio for the first time and started playing some heavy fast punk, after managing to write 2 songs within a few hours it was clear to us that this was the direction they wanted to go. The next day they got back in the studio out of pure excitement to write some more music. This is when they came up with the name ‘Rats Nest’, When they finished that rehearsal session they soon put an advert out for a guitarist.
March 31st 2017, Adam Stick joined the band and they had their first rehearsal as a full band. They then spent the next 6-7 months putting their heads down and smashing out some new songs.
November 6th-7th 2017, They hit Perry Vale Studios to record some songs for some EP’s, It was a completely new experience for them as a band and although at times it was stressful they enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait to go and do it again.
December 16th 2017, This was the day of their first gig, It when down really really well and was a great experience for them as a band, They thoroughly enjoyed every second of it and couldn't wait to gig again.

Gate of Deliria records label interview

1. Could you tell a bit more about gate of deliria  records  label?

gate of deliria  records  label said :

Hello, my name is Jari and I'm the owner of Gate Of Deliria label & distro in Helsinki, Finland. This is one-man hobby and passion for analog underground sound. The label is small and focused on sludge-doom & sludgecore bands mainly from Finland, but the latest release is Negative Slug from Zagreb, Croatia. And that's the first cassette release of the label. I started this as an vinyl label, but cassette has also good analog sound, so why not. This label & distro ain't about money. All the money I invest in this hobby remains there. I do a lot of wholesale from other DIY labels to grow and make G.O.D.distro interesting. And at same time I feed my hunger of all the great underground bands which are around the world. I'm endless riff seeker. Last two years I've been lot of into grindcore. So I will release some serious grind, too. This is music from a fan to fans.

2. When did you start with the gate of deliria  records label and are the bands satisfied with your services?

gate of deliria  records  label said :

The first release came out 24th of July 2014. That's the day one. I started to plan this label over two years earlier. The start was slow, so I focused to grow distribution side as well. So far the bands has been satisfied...

3. What bands can expect from you?

gate of deliria  records  label said :

I give them 100 % freedom to express their music and art. I give money for physical vinyls or tapes (sometimes I ask them to correct tiny details ;-). Bands get 10 % of vinyls or cassettes to themselves. Then I do my best to spread their music around the world. I also sell vinyls and tapes at local gigs here in Helsinki. It's fun to cycle with my distro bike and meet like-minded people.

4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

gate of deliria  records  label said :

Make noise about yourself. Do a demo/stickers/pins/patches/t-shirts, send e-mails to diy labels, use social media. And most of all, do gigs as much as you can and do gigs with different kind of bands. Don't drink too much before gig. Be friendly to other bands. But I think you already knew this...

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

gate of deliria  records  label said :

I always listen to demos and band links which I received. But I think this year is fully planned for upcoming releases(there might be change for one release the next winter). Year 2020 will be important to me in many ways and then I like to release serious vinyl collection of sludge bands around the world. So let me hear about you...
Thanks for this interview. Your blog have a great name :-)

Sick World records and distro interview

1.Could you tell a bit more about sick world records and distro ?

Sick world records and distro said:

The name of the distro was pinched from a Broken Bones track of the Stitched Up album. the whole thing was started when I began to get frustrated with not being able to order what I wanted from local shops and knowing others wanted the same thing started approaching DIY labels for items, postage to New Zealand from abroad is pretty expensive so it started to make sense to buy in larger quantities to get wholesale prices and kind of just grew from there. It is still a small distro run out of a corner of a room of my home and is a labor of love rather than any kind of business venture.

2.When did you start with the sick world records and distro and are the bands satisfied with your services?

Sick world records and distro said:

I started the distro around 1999 just bringing in 7"s mainly from the USA, post from there now is a bit too expensive so I concentrate on stock mainly the UK, Europe and Australia these days. As for the vinyl on our own label that started in late 2011 it was a split LP with two local New Zealand bands Gripper and Vicious Rumor. I was totally inexperienced with releasing vinyl and made pretty much every mistake you could make, so in short the packaging wasn't great although the recording itself is real good quality, and the pressing plant lost my test presses , lost my specially blended colored vinyl I ordered and managed to change a 4 month turnaround into a 9 month nightmare. Still we managed a release party thanks my good friend Tim who runs Punk Rock Road Trips/Whatever Events the bands got more vinyl than they were going to get and despite my shortcomings they all still talk to me. If you want to release a record and are not sure what can go wrong ask me I've lived through it all.Following releases were either handled by an associate in the UK who knows what he is doing or are split label releases so haven't had to be the first point of contact.

3.What bands can expect from you?

Sick world records and distro said:

What can bands expect from me? Honesty I hope, I make them aware that with vinyl releases they wont get rich, I'll give them a certain amount of copies to sell at gigs give away what ever they want but if they want more they get them at cost, pressing vinyl is an expensive exercise and if not managed properly it will send you broke fast. Here in New Zealand we no longer have a pressing plant although one supposed to be starting up very soon, the scene is fairly small but there are quite a few labels and distro's so for the time being at least I'm concentrating on doing split label releases with labels and bands from abroad, it speads the stock out and the costs, most of which so far has been with Kibou Records and The Domestics.

4.Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

Sick world records and distro said:

If you cant afford to release your own record certainly look at a label to help out, don't think they are a bottomless pit of cash after all its the DIY scene not Sony or EMI but most of them have experience and know what they are doing, the label might also have a relationship with other DIY labels abroad that they have worked with in the past to help you get you record out there to  other parts of the world as well.

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

Sick world records and distro said:

Thanks Azra for taking the time to hunt me down and ask a few questions. When it omes to doing a label its best to do it because you enjoy it and like interacting with others, I like to treat it as a social occasion and a good way to meet others.
