The band DOXA originally formed in Koln in 2013. In 2016 and 2021 there was a line-up change on the guitar, which caused the band to partially reorient themselves musically. At the beginning, an own concept for punk should be defined, which received musical inspiration from bands like Tragedy, Wolfbrigade or From Ashes Rise.
The idea arose to think about socially critical and philosophical texts in punk and HC in this way. The most intense, but also darkest, social criticism can usually be found in the theories of old sociological classics such as Adorno, Foucault or Bourdieu. This is how a musical concept emerged from their own personal “negation of the world” and the corresponding punk attitude. One's own thoughts and emotions can be supplemented through the glasses of a theory, e.g. by Adorno. The debut album "Residuen" was paired with an angry, dark and melancholic mixture.
“Hardcore punk can still do with a message. […] In addition, DOXA make a broad sound […]that gets energy either from melancholic but melodic guitars or from heavy breakdowns. DOXA are dark, driving and can also be emotional without being embarrassing.”
(Plastic Bomb)
"...Dark and menacing, the chords pile up, besieging everyday racism, causing a 'simply feelin' good inside'.
As the source of meaningful resistance, DOXA is evidence of a twitch in consciousness..."
The band was formed at the beginning of 2015, after various changes in the post of drummer, the line-up is set up in the line-up Ketchup - vocals, Richard - guitar, Milda - bass, Ota - drums
In this line-up the band starts to perform actively and performs mainly at home, but also comes an invitation abroad, shortly after returning from Torgau drummer Ota leaves the band to pursue another project and in his place comes Luko, who after a short time play with Bands like Total Chaos, Starts, Outsiders, SSex, Deep Shining High, Defectives, No Hopes, Defused, Just War, Purgen, Conflict ...
Agrotóxico is a
Brazilian Hardcore band formed in the suburbs of São Paulo in 1993, influenced
by the first generation of Brazilian, English, Finnish and Swedish punk.
Since then, the
band has never had periods of inactivity, having toured Brazil and Europe
several times, playing in the whole underground scene and in major DIY
festivals such as Rebellion (UK), Obscene Extreme (Czech), Force Attack
(Germany), Vive Le Punk (France), among others, being nowadays one of the most
popular Brazilian bands worldwide and specially on the European continent where
all of their albuns were released in countries like Germany, UK, France and
distributed all over Europe by Dirty Faces (DE), Break the Silence (DE) and
Pumpkin Recs (UK).
In this period
Agrotóxico released 7 albums, a documentary DVD and participated in several VA
records around the world.
The Agrotóxico’s
lyrics talk about different social subjects, from the violence of the big
cities, wars, ecology, politics, etc., always within the scene of the
libertarian left wing.
The band is
currently preparing songs for a new album to be released in 2020.
The current
line-up of Agrotóxico is: Marcos (Guit / Vocal), Jef (Bass / Vocal), Arthur
(Guit / Vocal) and Fernanda (Drums).
On the European
tour 2018and sometimes also in Brazil,
Leandro from ÓdioSocial replaces Arthur on guitar.
CUTRE come into being by the result of three guys desire to play fast hardcore. This desire'll decant into a 4 songs demo, registered in 2018. It was recorded and edited in tape, holding the "D.I.Y." like the only way to make things happen. The desire never ceased, then they decided to include an extra-foreign member into the band, closing the project-and finally converting it into an established band, motivated by the eagerness of unleash their project and making it take its own rhythm. In this way, Fede (Avernal, The Killing) on guitar, Leito (Motosierra, Setiembreonce) on bass, Diente (Ulcera) on vocals and Tincho (Camiones en la casa) on drum, take on a trip that's still going on... At the beginning of this current year, 2019, they're playing, composing, and recording their first studio album, that was registered in Ochava Records (the band drummer's home studio) and mastered in "Reel to reel" by Emanero, to later edit it by themselves in tape format. What's coming, is about to be written
FUCK-USHIMA was formed in 2011 by Raappanoid in Tampere, Finland as kind of a therapy project, and he's the sole original member of the group. Since then, it has evolved into a full time band, with several tape releases and probably hundreds of played shows.
(Hopefully early) next year FUCK-USHIMA is releasing a 12" split vinyl album with another great Tampere band FOSFOROS. FUCK-USHIMA is already in process of writing totally new material as well, so there might be even two releases for next year.
Line up:
Minkkine: drums
Raappanoid: bass & vocals
Simo Psalminen: guitar & vocals
Lapsi: vocals
Here are The Boring, a 5 pieces punk-hardcore band from Colmar, eastern France. This is it from the beginnig: 2005-2007: two demos, lot of shows2008: our first EP 7 songs "The Masquerade", lot of shows and a european tour with their beloved friends Kazan 2009: they recorded 4 new songs they are on a split CDr with their friends I
Am John Spartan released for their second tour in eastern Europe. 2010: their first LP called Let The Captain Sink, lot of shows, eurotpe tour with their crust but good friends Geraniüm 2011: they released a split with their old friends Escape, they played a lot
of shows again and made a european tour alone, this time.2012: NEW LP CALLED "CRAVING FOR CHANGE" !!!
They started Mental Distress in 2013 and the goal has always been to write political songs against all types of discriminations, while keeping the fun side of hardcore punk. Quite soon they recorded our first demo tape, started playing everywhere they could. End of 2015 they changed their bassist before recording a 7” split with their friends from Ed Warner, and an EP along the same lines. Mid 2017 is quite an important moment for the band, as their singer comes out as a trans dude, and they have the opportunity to make their first “real” european tour. Then they took a whole year to concentrate ourselves on the writing of their first LP, and to let hormones do their job on their singer’s voice.
This LP is different than their other records. A fair amount of their texts are now in french, because it’s easier to express their feelings without having to go through the translation stage. Of course the voice changed a lot, making their music less fast but more understandable, though they still love angry music.
Talacactus is a hardcore punk band born in José C. Paz, province of Buenos Aires, in the year 2014. They are trying to develop a style of their own, including the punk, rock and roll styles and the fast-paced styles. The intentions are to include new sounds in the fast music that drives them. The aesthetics are permeated by the indigenous entheogens, the changes in the perception that generalize, and the persecution by the Catholic Church of the ancestral and ritual uses of these substances in Latin America. From our earliest beginnings they have sought to create a space in their city, for bands of the fastest musical styles, such as hardcore punk, crust, fastcore, powerviolence, crossover thrash, etc. Unfortunately it is an underground move, and due to the damage of the bolicheros there are the extreme genres, it is difficult to achieve a growth. Amidst our other efforts, they have compiled the compilation "No Trouble: 50 Fast Bands from North and West Conurbano." They also organize recitals like the Trinchera Fest, and José C. Blast, where they invite musicians from another area, and betray the exponents of the underground. From the first to the last track, this album you're going to notice a theme with this album: guitar leads. its a dirty, thrashy, hardcore-punk album that's pushing every song for
all the adrenaline it's worth. And really that's all the effort this
commands. Throw in some lyrics that'll leave you shitting corn, some of
the most generic drumming.
NEGATIV is a new
hardcore punk from Oslo. This band makes me feel that it will bring something
exiting to the Oslo punk scene which is not just about Oslo punk scene but it
is more involvements from punk scene in other countries. It’s maybe also by the
vocalist Skunk’s own hard works for label and bookings, and NEGATIV is deeply
involved in it as well. Thus this band makes me feel something will happen! . Once they started playing, the band immediately grabbed the entire atmosphere
in the moldy underground space and delivered its manic primitive energy
thoroughly. Their sound is based on 80s hardcore with weird mixture of Scandinavian
hardcore punk, some Japanese flavor, light distorted guitar sound which
sometimes sounded even rockin and the edge of thrash hardcore. Their groove is
undulated with its manic groaning vocal but still has some sharp edge of thrash
hardcore here and there. Their groove completely smashed the space and whole live
space was undulated by the crowds and its sweaty moist heated air.
LADRONA is hardcore punk/D-beat band who integrate individualities with artistic concerns subversive and transgressive. where their interests have been reflected in the contradictions of the system, its moral values, religious values, and private property in a representative Central American and authoritarian context, and the re-meaning and recovery of a life. the catharsis of our sadness, anguish, and the hatred of living in a capitalist system that runs through us the most close to our bodies, where youth have no more options than surviving their jobs, precarious employment, and an eternal uncertainty. the same marginalization in what they see ourselves sometime.
1. Could you tell a bit more about skrammel
record label?
Skrammel records started out as the out of tune, distorted
voice of Swedish punk and hardcore. We wanted it to make it easier for
good bands to have their music put on wax, with as little obstructions
as possible. No contracts or shady royalty reports. We print the
records, the band get some to sell, we take some to sell. And we help
each other in any possible way to make sure that the records doesn't end
up in storage shelve somewhere. That means small printed volumes and an
ever expanding network of distro's in the world that can help us.
2. When did you start with the skrammel record
label and are the bands satisfied with your services?
We will celebrate 10 years next year. 2019 will see us release our
29th, 30th, 31st and perhaps even 32nd records since the start in 2010.
Many of the bands are coming band to release new albums with us and we
hope that is an indication of us doing a good job and being nice to deal
with.
3. What bands can expect from you?
Honest support - we only release music we get
emotionally attached to, which makes it so much easier for us to support
every release with all the love it deserves. Our music is not for
everyone and that is fine. It is for us and that is all we need. Also we
try to compensate the bands with a number of copies from the printed
stock for band to sell at shows. Money in the pocket for the musicians
without any reductions by overhead costs. If the musicians need our
support to sell their share of the copies we are happy to help them.
4. Could you give some advice to bands about the
underground scene?
Be original. Live shows is still great for getting your music out but
internet rules. Release one killer track on Youtube, bandcamp or
wherever rather than ten bland song on a CDR . Quality is everything.
5. Could you say something at the end for the blog
All for one and one for all?
Continue to send stuff our way. If we don't answer immediately its not
because we are being dicks, we are just old and slow. But we will
listen. And ooh - Check out the new Fetish and Krig i Hudik-albums (pre-order available at our webshop www.skrammelrecords.com). They are fucking killing it.
"Rotten Stiches is a punk band from
Atlanta Georgia. When Rebellion Pitt went down to see their show we
picked up a copy of Crisis Control. This album is loud and fast and gets
your adrenalin pumping. With intense lyrics to match the insane vocals
and fast music it is the best soundtrack to an angry life. Picture a
bunch of punks in a car getting chased by 20 cop cars, 5 news vans and 2
helicopters trying to escape by throwing Molotov cocktails out the car
windows . . . and just when they think there is no hope for an escape
they decide to drive off a cliff into the sea where they are able to
swim back to a comfortable squat where they celebrate their victory with
cheap beers, whiskey and this this CD blasting from a speaker they
found in the dumpster, using the electricity they siphon from the
neighbors. This talented band has produced a CD that has you on the edge
of your seat. Rotten Stitches bring their songs to life in their live
show — we highly recommend you check them out."
Antigen was founded as punk band in Göttingen (Germany) in 2002. Founding members are Steffi (Bass and Vocals), Mücke (Guitar) and Wally (Drums). The band released the first album „Fluch der Väter“ in 2006 with the newcomer-label “Skulls in Heaven”. The second LP „Ware Leben“ was released in 2011. In 2011 Wally left the Band and Schmied (ex Dunkle Tage, ex Red with Anger) became the new drummer. In 2016 Mad Butcher Records released the EP „Ourselves“. In 2016 the band made a break.
In 2018 Steffi, the singer and bass player found new band members in the common former band Angry Brigade from Prague, which influenced the sound significantly and brings crust and hardcore elements into the band. The lyrics criticise power relations, social problems, capitalism and war.
