Mad Schnauzer Records interview

1. Could you tell a bit more about Mad Schnauzer Records label?

Hello! Mad Schnauzer Records began to exist in 2016. Main cause for us was to support some nice and dedicated people from Balkan area and also to do proper promotion for bands with strong DIY ethics and political background. We will try to release and distribute as much records as we can.

2. When did you start with the mad schnauzer   record label   and are the bands satisfied with your services?

In 2016 MSR released The Truth - Tenzija 7” in cooperation with You Are Not Normal Records (Serbia), Dhpak47 (Croatia), Mentalna Smrt Fanzin (Croatia), Destroy It Yourself (Portugal), Rauha Turva (Czech Republic), Ffud Rec (Slovakia) and Burina Records (Slovakia). During 2017 we released Eaglehaslanded / Left To Starve - Split LP in cooperation with Dingleberry Records (Germany), Mosh Potatoes (Belgium), Hardcore For The Losers (Austria) and Summercide Records (Romania). We were on dirty roads of record production again in 2018 and we released Rules - S/T cassette in cooperation with Destroy It Yourself (Portugal). Now it’s 2019 and you can expect The Truth - Drive, Play, Sleep, Repeat cassette until hot summer days. We heard some very nice words about our work from bands, people who still believe in buying stuff from distros, labels or touring bands and for us it is very important feedback. So… we are still in the game :)

3. What bands can expect from you?

We are not pro label. We don’t have contracts with bands, we are not into marketing operations and similar bullshit but we always want to help any band from diy political hardcore punk scene if we can. Physical music formats are so retro and can cost a lot of money but for us it is the only right way. Best situation ofc is when band and us can sell all records in short period so we can release new record asap. Unfortunately everything is going very slow and people don’t care for music anymore. Fall of punk scene began in the moment when music (or political or social background) became less important than merch section at any diy hardcorepunk distro table. Movement or fashion? Choose your answer.

4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

Do it yourself, be yourself and motivated and most important thing be prejudice-free. Treat everyone and everything with respect and don’t tolerate bullshit (any racist, fascist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, speciesist, ableist or other discriminatory positions).

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?
