Hypershape records interview

1. Could you tell a bit more about hypershape record label?

Hypershape Records is an italian underground label focused on very limited editions, special packagings, often handcrafted. It's run by me (Michele Basso) also involved in bands like Viscera///, Formalist and The End Of 6000 Years and, last but not the least, graphic designer Giorgio Salmoiraghi, recently hired by Swamp Booking as tour manager.

2. When did you start with the hypershape record label and are the bands satisfied with your services?

The label was started in 2007 by Viscera///'s members plus a couple of other close friends. The purpose was to create a sort of solid platform to cover V///'s music (mostly secondary releases) and parallel acts. Of course the direction has changed whlist band's and label's plans became two separate roads. For a very long time I also found myself alone running the label, and it caused it's temporary demise. Fortunately, three years ago my old time fellow Giorgio joined and made so much to help me reviving HPS until it's very actual form.

3. What bands can expect from you?

We basically moved from straight metal stuff, and now we are exploring the more experimental and psychedelic nuances of heavy music. Just check our roster, you will definitely get what I'm talking about.

4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

The only advice we can give is STOP PLAYING ALL THE SAME AND RIPPING-OFF YOUR FAVOURITE BANDS. Seriously, it's getting old and it's killing underground music.

5.Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

Well, I guess I would like to invite all the readers to check more about us at the following links. Don't stop buying physical records and keep supporting underground quality music.
