Anticitizen is anarchopunk band formed in early 2012 in Washington, NJ.Anticitizen - Live in Allentown live tape was released on Saturday May 25th and feature 15 tracks recorded live at a recent show.A band who’s purpose for existence was to annotate and criticize
political issues and politicians and promote peace and anarchy, had
completely neglected a war being fought by their country on their, at
the time, current recording. By their own standards, they had done
well with this tape. They point out that the world is full of greed, unhealthy pride, anger,
resentment, lust, rape, envy, jealousy, spitefulness, dishonesty &
homophobia and that these are just other words for fear. They say we
must strive so that all people believe in peace if we are to evolve as a
species. Focus on goals other than monetary wealth and embrace the
similarities between races rather than worry about the differences. All
common sense really but not a situation that many politicians, money men
and militarists would benefit from.So Anticitizen are angry and frustrated. Which means they release great music. The lyrics are equally simplistic, yet equally effective. The
incredibly harsh and angry way that they are delivered only adds to
their raw truth. Anticitizen"s lyrical pursuits are limited to a couple
of subjects: namely, war and the system.This simplicity really only adds to Anticitizen’s

1. Could you
tell a bit more about urinal vinyl record label?

Sure, well, I've always loved punk and I've always loved vinyl, so it was
unavoidable I'd do it one day. I was running a tattoo shop on the coast and the
sea came in and flooded the place so I got a few quid from insurance, was a
"creative" claim to some degree, but it helped me get started up and
paid for my first release that I did by myself. I just wanted to get stuff
released on vinyl that wasn't available up until that point, partly just to
help the bands out, and partly just to have in my record collection. Never
liked CDs much! I was also gigging a fair bit with Contempt, so made sense to
take a box of records with me to gigs to get stuff out and about. It's a bit
more than 1 box now though!
2. When did you start with the urinal record label and are the bands satisfied
with your services?

The label and distro was started in 2013, so 5 years now. Was just a small
distro trying to raise the money to put out the first release, the first one being
a bit cheaper as it was a collaboration between several small DIY labels, about
10 of us altogether I think, maybe even more! As for the bands being satisfied,
well some are! I guess the ones I don't release might not be, but I do my best.
I have a good reputation with 99% of the people I deal with, and the 1%? Well
maybe that's their fault, not mine, who knows? Haha!
3. What bands can expect from you?

I'll do my best to get what they want I suppose. It's all DIY, run from home in
my spare time, but I still run it all as professionally as I can, not that
that's saying much! I work with lots of different bands, some that sell a lot
of records through to unknown bands, so every time it's a different thing I'm
doing, and if I can't afford to put stuff out for whatever reason I'm still
happy to help out with whatever I can. I'm in it for the music and for punk in
general, punk means a lot to me and has had a big effect on my life in a
positive way. I want it to carry on doing that for other people as well. I can
help out with mastering, artwork and so on, also recording will be available
again soon, lost my studio by having kids, they needed a bedroom more than I
needed a studio, but soon it will be up and running again I hope!
4. Could you give some advice to bands about the underground scene?

It is what you make it. Don't expect anything from it. Bring what you expect to
find as the saying goes. Punk to me is about cooperation and working together,
fuck all the egos, most of us are trying to be better than that. We're all a
lot older now, and I guess a lot of us haven't achieved what we believed to
have been possible in terms of the society we wanted to live in and become, but
we're not jaded because of it! It's just taking longer than we thought, so I guess
just give what you can and work together with no expectation of reward other
than the reward of actually doing it. That's more valuable than you think, the
alternative is pretty shitty!
5. Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

he idea of the
band was created a few years ago, but in the circumstances of the
circumstances, no adequate people were found to respond to the demands of the
band, and then all this story remained in the shadows. Winter 2007 brought a
shift towards the realization and beginning of the band's performance.
Cooperation between Mice and Simketa was established, which engaged in
achieving the goal ie. to finally do something about the realization of
Otvoreni Prelom. The first rehearsals took place in good mood , but it did not
last. Some of the original members of the band made too frivolous the idea of
the performance and work of the band, and due to laziness and insufficient
engagement, they were replaced, ie, Geber and Kocog, bass player and drummer from
the band Lepra joined Otvoreni Prelom. Immediately began to work on the
author's songs. Most of the texts were written by Mica, and the share in some
texts was also given by Simke. We created music all together on our first joint
trials. In January 2009 we had our first gig in Senta with bands of Funeral x,
Lepra and Agitator. After another gig in his hometown, Otvoreni prelom was
invited to perform in Vinkovci at the memorial concert of Satana Panonski with
bands Abergaz, Fingis, No Sea idols and the Zagrobni čučanj. After that, they
performed in Becej, Novi Bečej, Bačka Topola, Subotica, Senti ... Later Marko
joined Otvoreni prelom as another guitarist ... The further work of the band
Otvoreni prelom you will soon taste for yourself, because they do not intend to
stop now!

my services....At the level of production,I like the hard made discs, so it
takes a certain seriousness at the group level,if they are not,there is very

Disclass is an Anarcho-Punk band from Macedonia. The current line up of
the band is Kikir-bass,Pucha-drums and Walter on guitar and vocals wish
is the founder of the band. All members
are included in other bands as well Kikir(ex-Defekt,ex-Rastur
System,Side Effects,)Pucha(ex-Untold,ex-Defekt,Panik
Attack)Walter(ex-Katran,ex-Disconnected). The beginnings of the band
were in 1994 in the garage of the band 'New Police State' under the name
of 'Territorial Defense' by Walter and Salem,which later joins and
strip-Kic(RIP).Their first gig was held in 'Music Garden'in 1994.Later
the bands name was changed to 'Social Deprived'and by that name
performing in M.K.C. in 1994/95 and a few local gigs.Meanwhile the band
is playing some gigs under the name 'Riotous Assembly'.Sometime after
that the band members,who were 'Class War' oriented changed its name to
'Disclass'(no classes,or essentially any Class War). In 1998 with a
recorded performance of the festival 'Forever Punk-Forever Young' held
on 25.01.1998,issued split with Brazilian Crust/Punk band 'Abuso
Sonoro'. Band due the drug abuse ande death of the bassis Kic goes
on hold for a few years.In 2011/12 band starts rehearshal with the
curent line up.Plays few gigs and making new songs. In 2013 'Disclass' put out a 4way split with bands 'Disease'(Macedonia),'Warcorpse'(Greece),'Slaktgrav'(Greece).
A.U.K. was the brainchild of John Ball. He wanted to start a
band, and with me just fresh from leaving The Alternative, the cogs were
in motion. The band went through a lot
of line-up changes before starting to play. Eric Kinkell (a.k.a. Skinz)
was there on guitar from the beginning, but he didn't like the way the
band was going and wanted to pursue his musical interests in another
band and later played guitar with 'Newtown Grunts'. Then there was Kenny
Greg who played bass, and Michael (also bass) who left with Skinz.
After attracting brother and sister Gary and Mel, the band got down to
some serious practising. Rehearsals took place in various locations
including the local school and the Glenrothes YMCA. John and Iain were
the mainstay behind the lyrics and music, with additional music and
lyrics from from Gary.

AUK played gigs with Oi Polloi and I.D Parade one being the Glenrothes YMCA, 25th October, 1986.John and Iain later formed a 2 piece called 'This Tribe' and recorded the track 'The Earth Dies Screaming'. A.U.K Re-formed again in 2008 which was to see the release of a Split
CD with Brighton anarcho punk band 'Burnt Cross' titled 'The Earth Dies
Screaming'. The title was chosen due to Rob B.C hearing the original
track performed by 'This Tribe' and saying it should be re-recorded.
This was the insperation that seen both Iain and John join forces once
more and record again as A.U.K. This time the sound was more aggressive
and the lyrics more punchy but remaining with that original 80's style
and sound.A.U.K then released the 'Rise' single via Darren from Tadpole Records.

Doom are an English crust punk
band from Birmingham, England, whose first, influential lineup were
together from 1987 to 1990. Despite its short existence, the band is
considered pivotal in the rise of crust punk, a style within the punk rock subgenre that fuses extreme metal with anarcho-punk. They recorded for Peaceville Records and are cited as an early precursor to the grindcore style of heavy metal music. Doom were also a favorite of BBC Radio DJ John Peel.
Doom began as The Subverters with Jon Pickering (bass/vocals), Bri Doom (guitar) and Jason Hodges (drums). After Jason was replaced by new drummer, Mick Harris, the band changed its name to Doom.
This lineup played one or two gigs, playing in a crossover metal
style. Bri and Jon decided this wasn't the direction they wanted the
band to move in. Consequently they left Harris and the metal style of
music, and decided to go in a Discharge-influenced crust punk-style
that Doom became known for. Pickering dropped bass to concentrate on
vocals and Pete Nash joined as bass player. Harris left so new drummer
Stick, recently made bandless, joined after a drunken meeting at the
infamous Mermaid Pub, this was when the 'real' Doom was formed. The band started rehearsing with this line-up in mid 1987.
About this time a small label called Peaceville Records
was starting up. They heard about Doom through word of mouth and asked
if they were interested in contributing songs to the first Peaceville
compilation A Vile Peace. Doom went into the studio to record
their first demo on 28 August 1987. Nash unfortunately broke his wrist
just before Doom's recording debut, so bass player Jim Whitley (of Napalm Death and Ripcord fame) filled in on the recording. Three songs were recorded (two of which appeared on A Vile Peace).
On the strength of this first recording Peaceville asked Doom if
they would record a full LP for them, which they agreed to do. The War is Big Business
demo was recorded on 27 November 1987, which the band sold as a
cassette at gigs. In February 1988, Doom went into "Rich Bitch" studios
and recorded 21 songs for their debut album War Crimes (Inhuman Beings). All this time the band gigged constantly in the UK building up a following on the way. Another demo Domesday was also produced.
At the end of 1988, due to personal commitments Bri announced
that he would be leaving the band. He stayed long enough to record the
split LP Bury the Debt - Not the Dead (with Swedish band No Security) on the Peaceville label. The Police Bastard
EP (on discarded records) was also recorded at the same session. Doom
were also invited to record two sessions for Radio One's John Peel show
around this point. Bri left the band in April 1989 after completing a
lengthy European tour.
Doom continued with different guitarists, most notably with Dave Talbot who co-founded UK doom metal band Solstice with Sore Throat's
vocalist Rich Walker, but did not settle with four members for long
playing numerous gigs as a three piece, as Pickering turned to vocal and
guitar duties. This line up continued until a final split in August
1990. Following the group's demise Pickering formed Cain, then Police
Bastard, whilst drummer Stick and bassist Nash joined Extreme Noise Terror. Stick then joined DIRT and Nash joined Filthkick and Cain.
The band reformed in 1992 with the earlier line up of Bri, Jon, Pete
and Stick. They toured Japan and recorded a 12" of new songs released on
the label Vinyl Japan. This proved to be the last recording with this
line up. About this point the band almost split up but Bri and Stick
decided to continue with two new members. These being Tom Croft from Genital Deformities on vocals and Paul "Mall" Mallen on bass guitar. This line up recorded the split album with Selfish and a split 7" EP with HHiatus. Mall left shortly afterwards (an amicable parting). He was replaced by bassist Scoot from Largactyl.
This line up recorded the split 7" EP Doomed to Extinction with Extinction of Mankind, the Fuck Peaceville double LP, and the Hail to Sweden 7" EP. This is also the line up who appear on the Videodoom video on MCR recorded on a European tour in 1994
A tour of Scandinavia was organised for September 1995, however
Scoot decided not to go due to problems at home, so he was replaced by
of Blood Sucking Freaks, moving to second guitar after the tour. Tom
Croft also left just before the tour and was replaced by Wayne
Southworth (also of Blood Sucking Freaks). While on the Scandinavian
tour Doom recorded the Monarchy Zoo 7" EP at Sunlight Studios.
The band, now composed of , Stick, Bri, Wayne and Chris, went into the studio in June 1996 and recorded a full LP for Flat Earth, Called Rush Hour of the Gods.
Bri would go on to join Khang, this band then evolving into Lazarus Blackstar. moved to Sweden and formed Murdered Cop and then Gloomy Sunday. Stick is also part of the band RUIN. Pickering went on to form Police Bastard and Haxan and Nash later formed Corvus.
2010: Doom is back…. the line-up keeps it “in the family”

On 18 March 2005 Wayne Southworth (lead singer) was found dead in his
home by a friend. The cause of death was an epileptic seizure.The band then played at the 1 in 12 club, Bradford, England one last time without Wayne Southworth in tribute of their friend.
In 2013 Doom toured Canada for the first time and released a new
track ("Stripped, Whipped & Crucified, Part I") from their upcoming
LP ("Corrupt Fucking System") on a compilation entitled "25 Years of
Crust" via Moshpit Tragedy.In 2015 when Doom were in their South American tour, 4 fans died in a stampede outside their show in Chile.
Plasmid were the earliest incarnation of Heresy, one the most crucial
British hardcore bands of the second part of the 80's alongside Ripcord
and The Stupids (but I have to say that the early Heresy recordings
completely take the cake for me). To put it bluntly, Plasmid existed
when the blokes looked like that.

These superficial considerations apart, this demo can be considered as
one of the earliest examples of genuine British hardcore. Recorded in
1983 in terrible conditions (it was recorded through only one
microphone), it is revealed in the Third Book of Saint Ian Glasper that,
initially, the band was against the idea of tuning up their
instruments.
First, what Plasmid lacked in music proficiency, they largely made up
for with an incredible energy. Even as bad as the sound is (you can't
really use the term "production" here...), you can hear this youthful
power, this burning intensity, this unbreakable will to play faster and
with more aggression that you will find in Heresy's demo and flexi later
on. This recording IS the essence of raw punk. There is no pretense of
artistry, no hesitation, no frills. This is raw hardcore punk played as
fast as possible without thinking about musicianship or recording
details.
Second, we have with Plasmid one early example of British hardcore. By
this term I mean that we have a blend of British Discharge-influenced
bands and international hardcore-punk. It has to be said that Plasmid
members themselves retrospectively claimed that their primary influences
at the time were Discharge, Antisect and Anti-System, and listening to
the demo one can definitely agree with that. But at the time, in a 1983
handout given with the tape, the list was much longer and not only
contained a lot of anarcho bands such as The Mob, Anthrax or Flux, but
also bands like Varukers, GBH or Abrasive Wheels. So on this side,
Plasmid was certainly a band of its time, at the national crossroads
between anarchopunk and the Discharge school.
The absence of some of the lyrics doesn't, by any means, imply that you
don't get much to read: as already mentioned, you have a two-page
history of Plasmid written by Steve and Garn (with, as a bonus, the
short review of the demo Pus did for MRR back then comparing Plasmid to
fellow noise merchants Chaos UK and Asylum) as well as a text about
bloodsports and fox-hunting and one text written by the band as a
handout accompanying the demo. The reissue is packed with fantastic
cut'n'paste artwork with top-notch drawings (the punk-skeleton doing the
peace sign should have been used for a shirt... any taker?) and superb
anarcho-influenced symbolism and slogans. As I said, this is possibly
the loveliest Ep reissue that I have seen and one that the record label,
Shortfuse records (also responsible for records from Lärm, Ripcord or
Uniform Approach), must be very proud of.
