Underground Disco Beocin record label interview

1. Could you tell a bit more about Underground Disco Beocin ??

 Underground Disco Beocin said :

UDB emerged as a collective in July 2017. When an informal group of people took over the abandoned space in the old disco of the Culture Center in Beocin. It was conceived as space for gigs and a social center, so designing and adapting the space relied on the absolute DIY and was funded exclusively from donations of individuals. In time, the activities became more common, and they were organized in the space beside gigs and film projection, book promotion, humanitarian action, etc. Unfortunately, the home of the culture and the locality of Beocin decided to throw us out of space, looking for a new "disk" we are doing the benefit gigs and relying on friends from the bands who have come here, they remember hospitality and are very eager to help us. Look forward to being again concerts active soon.

 2. When did you start with the Underground Disco Beocin and are the bands satisfied with your services?

 Underground Disco Beocin said :

With the tape label we started a few months ago, now all bands are very satisfied with fast and ease communication and fast agreement, and then with the quality of service and speed.

3. What bands can expect from you?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

Each band can expect the help of booking gigs and organizations with us, and in many places we work with. Whether it's a tape promotion or some tour in the coming period. We are always willing to help with equipment, gigs, craftsmanship, transportation, etc.

4. And what the undergrond scene  can expect from Underground Disco Beocin?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

I think the whole scene at this moment is aware of what could expect from us, whether we're talking about tapes, gigs or any other action. We are always open for any kind of work and you will always get an answer from us. The collective is made up of people who are active in various fields, so for that reason we have never been limited, but constantly have to look around and learn. We do not ask "how, why?" But we are talking "come on and now".

5. What should underground scene look like?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

Above all, full tolerance, solidarity, sexism, without racism and any other form of violence and bullying. Open and honest, straightforward, without much lies, acting and  fraud. Mutual trust and promotion are very important. At this time when everything is easy to reach,it cant be diffilcut to click on "share". The activity of people in small places is also very important, support your space when organizing a gigs, even if you personally not listen to it, we are pretty sure that in smaller cities with spaces like ours, where are no more interesting events and where are not many choices. If thats so, go and enjoy the metal gig even though you are punker, listen to the grind , because it is not easy for organizers to indulge in any your taste. Identify your space if you have it nearby, ask how you can help if you do not have enough time to do it (and who has it?) Help the organizers at least on the day of the show. If you do not have space - do it! If you can not do it alone  - connect with others, share ideas, ask people for other tips. Play, sing, write fanzin! Settle down with the owner of the cafe, if you can not even set up your space with the team to let you make gig once a month. There are many ways in which individuals can influence on the scene, its easy to walk away.

6. How was the underground scene before in Beocin and Serbia?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

Underground scenes Beocin was not so active in the past, mostly because of the proximity of NS, so the individuals from here were active there. It all comes down to several bands and several releases. Even today, bands do not have much better situation, we have turned to organizing the event and publishing, and in a little younger of us, we start bidding around the bands.

7. As for the current events in Beocin and Serbia what is underground scene like now compared to before?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

Since we are a little younger, we still remember better times, especially  Novi Sad. People have been shunned a bit, so it is our turn for us to get involved, and we are happy to connect with the young NS bands with whom we work together in Beocin and NS. A little old team from former DCa has helped us greatly, with some equipment as well as useful tips.Again, we wanna  thank you again for your help!

8. How to improve the situation on the underground scene in Serbia and in general in the Balkans, since we are aware that wherever we turn, there is a lot of commercial music ??

9. Could you give some advice to underground bands about the underground scene?

Underground Disco Beocin said:

If you play in the band, you are not a doctors of science, the king of the world and king of the universe ! Do not point out your ego in the foreground. It is hard to make gig, and if someone is willing to help you, especially if you are on a tour, give him back with your kindness, that's the least you can do. In Beocin you  will not play more than anyone who has been abusive during a time of event,  we will not  cooperate with such bands. You are not welcome then ! Hanging out ,  have a good understanding of each other, some promoters are difficult to choose  a couple of drinks for bands, so they break money from their pocket, get bands in their homes, etc. If you do not understand, do not even move.

10. Could you say something at the end for the blog All for one and one for all?

 Underground Disco Beocin said:

Kudos to All for one and one for all (Azra) for the call! We are always pleased to announce that with fanzines, blogs, edited by people who like doing what they do, are volunteering and are sincere in love with music. Stay nice, young people, and let's catch up in Beočin over some homemade brandy or elderberry juice.
